CULTURAL APPEAL OF WINE EXAMINED IN THE SPIRIT OF NEW WINE DOCUMENTARY
In October, local residents interested in learning more about wine need not look farther than their television sets.
On Sunday October 12, KRCB Channel 22 will broadcast California Bounty, the first episode of the documentary series The Spirit of New Wine. On Sunday October 19, viewers can enjoy Sweeter than Wine, the second of the three episode series. Both shows will be broadcast at 11 p.m. after KRCB’s live wine auction.
“In The Spirit of New Wine, not only did I want to provide viewers with some practical information about wine,” stated Denise Ingrid Brickel, the show’s director, producer and host. “I wanted people to understand wine’s symbolism and its cultural appeal in Western society. I believe this program will help viewers understand how closely wine is connected to so many facets of our culture, including music, art, cuisine, and faith.”
